Menopause is a time in a woman’s life when she stops having menstrual periods. On average, menopause occurs at 51 years of age, and commonly between the ages of 48 and 55 years. Premature menopause occurs in women as early as in their 30s or early 40s. The reasons for this phenomenon are largely unknown. Menopause is a natural process that a woman’s body experiences that ends fertility. A woman who has had a hysterectomy can induce menopause. Menopause is caused by a complex series of hormonal changes. These changes can lead to a large variety of symptoms that vary from woman to woman. Although there are some women who report that they… experience little to no menopause symptoms, others…complain that their menopause symptoms are wreaking havoc on their lives. Ideally, these women will search for effective ways to relieve the symptoms of menopause to improve their quality of life.
Early Menopause Signs and Symptoms
Some of the most common menopause symptoms are hot flashes, night sweats, sporadic menstrual periods, reduction in libido and vaginal dryness. Some of the other early menopause signs and symptoms a woman may experience include erratic mood swings, fatigue, and hair loss. Others include insomnia, difficulty concentrating, memory lapses, and dizziness. Depression, anxiety, and irritability often join the parade. Hormonal changes is the culprit, along with trying to cope with all the other symptoms. Symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats can be difficult to cope with. They often lead to anxiety and stress as well as disturbed sleep. This disturbed sleep can lead to difficulty concentrating and memory lapses. Many women experience mood swings and irritability. Oftentimes, this causes relationship trouble when others don’t understand what’s going on. Well ladies, those are the facts. I realize not all of it is good news. Ok, none of it is. However, it is something that is part of being a woman, and we must go through! HOW we go through is up to us. We can choose to educate ourselves (as you have done here) and make the journey as easy as possible on ourselves and those around us. Or we can choose to pose for the new edition of the 7 Witches of Menopause, and be the itchiest, bitchiest, sweatiest, sleepiest, bloated, forgetful and psycho lady going! Either way…..
