STOP SNORING WOMEN!stop snoring women

This is not just a man’s problem (as you already know)! Stop snoring women caught your eye because YOU snore and want to stop, or someone right next to you snores and you want to stop them! And no matter who, your sleep is affected and it’s time to do something about it. Right?!? OK!

I remember going on a few women’s retreats and there were always stories flying the very first morning… “You can’t believe how loud So-and-So snores!” “I didn’t sleep a wink because Whoosie snored all night!”

“I’m never sleeping with You Know Who ever again! Lumberjack! She sawed logs all night!”

Anyway, it appears snoring has affected you in some way and it’s time to stop snoring women! I discovered a stop-snoring aid quite by accident. It’s called the Good Morning Snore Solution! It is rarely a good morning when you or someone near you snores, so the name in itself brings some hope.

The Good Morning Snore Solution’s journey began in 2007 as a solution to a need for a more convenient and economical solution for patients suffering from sleep apnea and snoring. CPAP and custom mandibular appliances were the rule of the day, but sleep researchers saw the need for alternatives. The task was undertaken by Dr. Leslie Dort, a dentist and sleep researcher from Calgary. She was the one who created the initial prototypes and conducted all the testing for safety and effectiveness.

stop snoring womenDr. Nancy Markley, another Calgarian, first saw the device in 2007, and listened to the stories of people adversely affected by snoring and sleep apnea. She founded MPowrx in a quest to bring this innovation to those seeking relief worldwide.

In the company’s words, “What makes our products unique? Unlike other anti-snoring devices, the Good Morning Snore Solution mouthpiece takes a unique approach by using a suction effect to gently pull the tongue forward, creating a clear airway resulting in a comfortable and quiet night’s sleep.”

What Are the Symptoms of a Vitamin D Deficiency?

what are the symptoms of a vitamin d deficiencyChances are you are asking the question, “What are the symptoms of a Vitamin D deficiency?” because you suspect you may have one. Getting 100% of our daily recommended vitamins is so important at this time in our lives ladies, and Vitamin D is essential!

First, let’s take a look at what Vitamin D does for us. From an early age, Vitamin D iscrucial to bone (and teeth) development because it helps the bones to absorb calcium from food. Later in life, it helps to prevent brittle bones and fractures. How many times have you heard that an over 50 person broke their hip? If you get regular check-ups, your doctor is going to recommend taking calcium supplements, but Vitamin D is crucial to the absorption of the calcium. The proper amount of Vitamin D may also optimize your immune system and decrease your chances for heart disease and multiple sclerosis. Continue reading…

MyPoints.Com Rewards Program – Online Shopping Rewards

The MyPoints.Com Rewards Program is one of the best rewards programs going. I have been a member since September of 2008 and have earned over 250,000 lifetime points. Considering an average $25 gift card is around 3700 points, I could have received 67 gift cards valued at $1675. Even better, $50 and $100 gift cards are cashed in at a lower point cost, making points even more valuable!

So… if you decide to sign up, here’s what happens. You receive an email called a MyPoints BonusMail. Whenever you see one of these, all you need to do is click on the GET POINTS button, let it download and collect 5 points. Then you can X out and it’s done! If you are interested in the deal, you are usually given bonus points to take advantage of it. I have taken advantage of some good deals, but I mostly X out after the page loads.

The MyPoints.com Rewards Program Really, Really Rewards… Really

I have done so much of my Christmas shopping at the MyPoints.Com Rewards Program, cashing out the points and buying $25, $50 and $100 gift cards to give to friends and family. The thing I want to highlight here is THEY COST ME NOTHING! I earned the points on the program by buying things I already planned on buying, only I bought them through the MyPoints program.

Granted, they do advertise special deals. If you are a savvy shopper, this will cause you no problems. If you jump at everything you see, it could be a problem. You need to know yourself and act accordingly.

You can also play games at MyPoints.com and earn points for each game you play. If you have a little bit of a gambling itch, you can play GSN Cash games for cash prizes. There are quite a few different games to choose from, cash or token. Either way, you earn pts. when you play.

There are many retailers that are involved with MyPoints such as JCPenney, Wal-Mart and the Home Depot. Restaurants such as Longhorn, Panera Bread and the Olive Garden are in the program as well as the special services of FTD, ebay, and QVC. I have mentioned just a few of the businesses in the program. I’m sure some of your favorites are there.

The MyPoints.com Rewards Program is a definite winner in my book. I’ve been a member nearly 8 years now and it has become a part of the way I do business in the world. It doesn’t cost me anything and I have considered it to be a blessing in my life through the years. So ladies! Don’t let this one pass you by.

Finding Love Over 50 – Where Do I Find Love?

finding love over 50Have you been wondering, “Is finding love over 50 possible? Where do I find love?” Well… relationships. What can I say? By this time in our lives, we have had our fair share of them. We were born into a family or placed into a family or orphanage.

Through the years, relationships are formed, good or bad or indifferent. Then we go to school, church, etc. and more relationships are formed. Then we join clubs, sports teams, exercise classes, support groups etc., and even more relationships are formed.

Of course, one relationship stands out above all the rest… Continue reading…

Successful Aging and the Choices We Make

successful aging and the choicesSuccessful aging and the choices we make go hand in hand. I’m not sure about you, but I found I was faced with making more serious choices in my 50’s than at any other stage of my life. Retirement, health, insurance, living arrangements, children, grandchildren, income, appearance, religion… and what about my dreams? are just a few things. And yes, we think about these things all through the years, but they seem so much more intense during the 50’s. Do you feel this way or is it just me?

Of all the things I’ve read about or experienced in my own life, the aspect of aging that stands out the most to me is the power of personal choices. I lost my mom in her 77th year (2013) and it certainly caused me to evaluate a lot of things. I had been watching her for a number of years not really enjoying life since my dad died in 1999. She played games on the computer most of the day and night while smoking cigarette after cigarette. The doctors said there wasn’t much they could do because she refused to quit smoking, and she didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything (she wasn’t breathing well and at 5’7, weighed in her 80’s).

Successful Aging and the Choices We Make

Renowned Existential Psychologist, Rollo Reese May, was admitted to a sanitarium with tuberculosis in thesuccessful aging and the choices 1940’s. There was no cure for the disease at that time, and May began analyzing himself in relation to the disease. He realized that his healing was directly connected to passive/active participation. “Not until I developed some ‘fight,’ some sense of personal responsibility for the fact that it was I who had the tuberculosis, an assertion of my own will to live, did I make lasting progress” (May, 1972, p. 14; as cited in Feist & Feist, 2009, p. 344-345).

Like Dr. May, successful aging and the choices we make are inseparable. It suddenly came to him that the doctors had given him over for dead, and he had a choice to go along with that or fight for his life. Because he fought, his life became a blessing to so many, giving us answers to so many of life’s difficult questions.

successful aging and the choicesMy mom’s choices affected me in many ways. I saw she had a choice. She had good friends and a good community of people where she could have thrived. She went out now and then as a result of the persistence of her wonderful friends, and usually had a great time. She had talent and so much to offer. She just couldn’t break free. Deep down, I think she just wanted it to be over. It was her choice. She was good with it. I had to be, and embrace her where she was; and I did. Every woman has a choice and we must learn to find peace with those choices.

So ladies! What do you want for the next half-century of life? Successful aging and the choices YOU make can be the difference between thriving just getting through. Some of them won’t be easy. You have the ability to make them. You have the ability to make choices for your personal well-being. Love yourself first. Reach down and get in touch with the things you know are essential for your well-being. Write them down. Work on them one by one. Then you’ll have the ability to share your thriving self with your family and community. This is the key to successful aging and being a women over 50 who thrives.

Signs! Symptoms! Menopause!

signs! symptoms! menopause!Signs! Symptoms! Menopause! is the title I chose for this article because we all want to know, “Are we really here? Is this IT? The long awaited curse of the mature woman?” Well let me tell you, if you are experiencing the following signs and symptoms…..

IT’S MENOPAUSE!!!

I decided to address the topic of menopause because typically, a woman goes through menopause around the age of 50. Obviously, this varies. My partner will be 59 this year, and she hasn’t gone through yet. As a matter of fact, she still has her period!!!

OK… So the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind when menopause is brought up, is a woman sweating and ripping off her clothes. That is, unless you are a husband of a woman going through menopause; he will envision a women sweating and ripping his head off!

Yes, a tell tale sign of menopause is hot flashes. We all know this! Some women begin having hot flashes in the premenopausal years, and others don’t start until after their final menstrual period. Either way, !! dun dun dun !! menopause is probably here or close by!signs! symptoms! menopause!

Signs! Symptoms! Menopause!       ………………….Oh My!

Our periods change. They come closer together and can last more than a week. We can experience spotting and heavy bleeding. When we are period-free for an entire year, we are finally THROUGH!

According to the National Institute on Aging, and anyone who’s been THROUGH, we also experience vaginal dryness and bladder control issues! This is not fun. I can remember being on the dance floor at a friend’s daughter’s 30th birthday party, laughing so hard I couldn’t move. I couldn’t move because the pee was running down my legs and forming into a pool beneath my drenched sandals. Yes! Signs! Symptoms! Menopause! I’m THROUGH, but was sorely tested.

Sleep patterns can be affected and our desire for sex can change. Some want it more, some want it less. Our bodies undergo some major changes also. It seems like puberty in reverse. Instead of things firmin’ and perkin’, they’re saggin’ and draggin’.signs! symptoms! menopause!

Other symptoms include irritability, inflammation, mood swings of the volatile variety, fatigue, and anxiety (Quadagno, 2014). Other than those, we’re lots of fun to be around! Take some advice from Maxine! OK… Maybe not!

Please leave a menopause story or share some ways you’ve learned to get THROUGH these trying times in the comments section below. Other women will benefit, and you could even save a life! 🙂

Get Paid!! Do Surveys…

There are plenty of companies who promote taking surveys for money, but I chose to advertise Click4Surveys. It is the Number 1 seller at Clickbank, which tells me that people join and do not quit. I took a look at the advertisement, and actually joined! If you can make it past the excited kids in the beginning and get to the guy giving the pitch, you just may see reasons to give the program a try. Examples of Forgiveness in the Bible

examples of forgiveness in the bibleExamples of forgiveness in the Bible are forthcoming, but first I’d like to cover a few important aspects of forgiveness. In simple terms, forgiveness is an act whereby we extend mercy and kindness to a person who has caused us hurt or harm.

  • Forgiveness is a key principle and even better, an action which is central to many faiths. And regardless of religious affiliations…
  • Forgiveness is an act which promotes health and well-being in any human being.
  • Forgiveness impacts life on many levels, including longevity and quality of life.
  • Forgiveness and lack of forgiveness have major implications on healthy aging.

examples of forgiveness in the bibleJesus goes as far as to say that we will not be forgiven if we do not forgive (Matthew 6:15). If we are unforgiving, we run the risk of bringing that anger and resentment into every new relationship. It can cause us to be anxious or depressed, and can steal our present joy as we concentrate on the past.

To stay on subject, I will relate this to issues involving healthy aging. There are life events which cause aging people anguish of body or mind. We are faced with forgiveness opportunities consistently. Children who don’t visit, our mistakes in parenting, betrayals in friendships, friends and family dying, failing health, loneliness, and life going by with dreams not realized are just a few.

Aging happens, and its effects are seen every day as a reflection in the mirror. When we see that aging person looking back at us, it can cause anguish of mind. Right? It needs forgiveness. These events and many more can build up day by day, until the chemistry in the brain begins to change. Forgiveness is a heart issue yes, but it affects the whole person, body, mind and spirit.

Here are Two Examples of Forgiveness in the Bible

The first is the story of the woman caught in adultery.examples of forgiveness in the bible

Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” John 8:1-11 NLT

As far as examples of forgiveness in the Bible go, there is probably none greater than the account of Jesus on the cross. After being beaten, betrayed and hung on a cross to die, some of His last words were heard, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

examples of forgiveness in the bible

I realize forgiveness can be a heavy thing. Some things that happen to us are very hard to forgive, but in order to thrive, we must. If we do not forgive, we are not on the side of goodness and mercy. It will eat away at us in some way, shape or form. Try to exemplify these two examples of forgiveness in the Bible…Forgive others, yourself, and God, and you will thrive!
